A high-ranking delegation from the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), including the company’s board of directors and senior management, visited Airport City Kumasi as part of a national tour of regional airports across Ghana.
The focus of the visit to Airport City Kumasi was to review the progress of the mixed-use development that is transforming the airport enclave from a purely functional transport hub into a globally competitive centre for commercial, hospitality, residential, and logistics.

The GACL team was led by the Board Chairman, Hon. James Agalga, Esq., who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa North, and the Managing Director, Mrs Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare.
The delegation also included Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister.

Mr Stephen Owusu, founder and CEO of HDG Inc., hosted the delegation and engaged them on the long-term vision for the airport enclave and the surrounding commercial corridor, which has been developed through sustainable and well-planned development.
The delegation gained an appreciation of how Airport City Kumasi is being positioned as a major contributor to the economic growth of the Ashanti Region, private sector investment, and the development of aviation-related businesses, as well as the urbanisation of the region.
The delegation was given a tour of The Kensington Heights, a 15-storey landmark featuring luxury one- to three-bedroom apartments, sky suites, and penthouses; The Greenwich, a prestigious residential enclave offering contemporary homes; Best Western Premier Hotel, providing top-tier hospitality options for global travellers and residents and The Cinnamon, grade A offices with sky gardens, restaurants and other mixed-use features.

Mr Owusu told the delegation that the years to come will see Ghana pursue its ambitions in aviation and logistics, and Airport City Kumasi will be the central location to support this new trajectory.
For his part, Hon. Agalga said that the visit to Airport City Kumasi emphasised the increasing national significance of the airport cities as both a vital transportation hub and a transformative urban development in pursuit of Ghana’s long-term infrastructure, trade and investment goals.
